Beautiful GlassHaus Wedding Branson Area Destination Wedding Venue

Branson Missouri Area Destination Weddings

When you think of destination weddings, my guess is that the first thing that comes to mind is something beachy, tropical, exotic and far away.  Don’t get me wrong…that sounds great to me too.  But, let’s face it, flights are a mess these days and the expenses that even your closest family and friends could  incur may put a damper on the once in a lifetime celebration that you’ve been dreaming of.  What if you could still get away, without going too far? Weddings at GlassHaus Weddings and TreeHaus Resorts in the beautiful Ozarks just might be the answer to your problem.

This is where we came in. In the midst of planning for our daughter’s wedding, we realized that what we were looking for did not exist.   An exclusive location. A place that is centrally located in the United States that all of our guests could easily drive or fly to. A place where family and friends could gather, relax and celebrate with no outside distractions.  We valued a space to spend extra time together, enjoying the unique opportunity to truly unwind and celebrate our daughter and son-in-law’s family and friends.

The Lakefront wedding that started it all…

Then it dawned on us.  The Ozarks.  Branson and it’s rolling hills, natural landscape, and beautiful lakes just might be the unlikely hero of our story!

Did we think about a beach somewhere far, far away? Yes. For a second.  But then we remembered- post-covid planning is a little more complicated.  On top of that, we didn't have the heart to cut our guest list to exotic destination wedding numbers.   To really grasp the pros and cons of a domestic versus US wedding destination, let's take a look and break it down. A recent article in The Knot tells us that destination weddings tend to cost more than hometown weddings. According to their study, the average cost of a destination wedding in 2021 was $32,700, as compared to the average cost of a hometown wedding, which was $28,000. They share some of the obvious expenses and planning headaches that come into play when explaining the differences:

  • Travel expenses such as airfare and accommodations are often at least double for destination weddings outside of the US

  • All-inclusive resorts abroad are often a choice for wedding venue selection to help save money since the hotel room, meals and group activities are often included in their wedding packages. These can be cost-prohibitive for many of your intended guests

  • Depending on the time of year when you choose to host your wedding, getting there and staying onsite can be expensive.  Most couples opt for peak season and that may mean higher travel costs than planning an event during the off season

  • Destination weddings typically have a lower guest count than a local wedding. Typical international events have an average of 54 wedding guests. Compare that to the average guest count for a local wedding: 110

  • For the destination wedding venue of your dreams, you may need to book at least two years in advance whereas typical dometic venues book 16-18 months in advance

When considering a domestic destination for your dream wedding, GlassHaus Weddings in the Branson area, offers some seriously great perks.  Your budget, simply put, will go farther! For 150 guests at a regular traditional wedding at our Table Rock Lake Venue the cost per guest is somewhere around an average of $160. A typical local destination wedding cost per guest can be as high as $1032. And an international destination wedding cost per guest is doubled at $2623.

Let’s take a closer look at where your Branson Wedding Venue destination wedding dollars really shine at GlassHaus Weddings:

  • Flight fare: If you or your guests have children, parents, close family and wedding party going with them, the travel fare will be significantly lower. Glass Haus Weddings is fifty minutes from the Springfield Airport, twenty five Minutes from the Harrison Airport, and one hour and forty five minutes from Northwest Arkansas Airport

  • Food: Unlike a traditional wedding where you have only one meal, destination weddings could last a weekend. So, couples and their guests will end up paying for extra brunches, breakfasts, and dinners. With so many local businesses catering to tourists, the Branson area has charming options for dining out for some local fare, or onsite kitchenettes in our units for a little light meal fix

  • Lodging: Often destination weddings abroad will have the couple offering to pay for their accommodations and their wedding party. This can put a dent in other areas of your budget. At GlassHaus Weddings and TreeHaus Resort, we offer several flexible accommodation packages where couples can offer their guests full or partially paid rooms, or we can send room links directly to guests, allowing them to secure their rooms with their own payment methods. Convenient and hassle free!

  • Fun activities: One of the perks of destination weddings is to get new experiences. Before or after the wedding, guests will enjoy fun group activities. The opportunities for fun here in the Branson area are endless!

  • Transportation: If the hotels do not offer transport, you’d have to find a way. Couples may opt to pay for transport from the airport to the lodge, to ceremony, reception, back to the lodge and airport. We have thought about this one long and hard and offer onsite accommodations for you and up to 38 guests with additional offsite lodging options available nearby.

We are overjoyed to be able to share this property and help couples cultivate the memories that will last a lifetime at their Missouri destination wedding venue. GlassHaus is the clear choice!
